When I designed our kitchen in 2001, I also designed the counter and sink to be custom made out of Fireslate. The sink is deteriorating and I want to replace it with a more conventional farmers sink. My problem is:
A) I've got Kvadrat Beech doors (now obsolete)
B) The sink cabinet is 30" wide with only 6 1/4" from the top of the carcass to the underside of the countertop. I can't find a 30" wide, under-mount style, apron-front (farmers) sink that is only 6 1/4" deep. If I change out the cabinet carcass to allow a conventional 8-10" deep sink, what do I do about getting shorter Kvadrat Beech doors? Or, are there shallow sinks out there that IKEA had in mind?
I've attached a picture taken soon after I installed it all (like my custom shelf next to the stove
