Anyone have splashing problems with farmhouse sink?

Hi there,
we just installed the farmhouse sink. it looks beautiful but when the water is turned on, it splashes onto the user. We're using it with the Alsvik faucet (without the steel pedestal; just the faucet alone coming out of the sink). Would love feedback to see if this is a common problem or something in our setup. We also added an insinkerator disposal but I don't think that changed the drain size at all. Thanks very much.

Re: Anyone have splashing problems with farmhouse sink?

I've got the double domsjo and have the small hjuvik faucet and don't have any problems with water splashing on me when I use the sink (except for when I use the sprayer near the top edge of the sink .. and then I'd be really surprised if I didn't get a bit wet!).

Re: Anyone have splashing problems with farmhouse sink?

We get splashing - not a lot, but with wood counter tops we have to be very careful - almost everytime the faucet is turned on I need to use the sponge...

We have a single Domsjo with a high arch faucet (the Elverdam?) - if I pull the spout down so it's closer to the bottom of the sink then I can usually avoid splashing.

It's kind of a pain, but it is pretty...

Re: Anyone have splashing problems with farmhouse sink?

We have the double Domsjo with a Kohler VInatta faucet, and have no problems with splashing.

I guess setup could be an issue...I think the faucet head has to be 9" inside the sink or more in order for it to not splash against the back. Could you tell us where the splashing is happening? Is it hitting the bottom and splashing up, for example, or is it hitting in the back?

Perhaps your water pressure needs adjusting? If the water is flowing too quickly, I'm sure that could cause some splashing.

Re: Anyone have splashing problems with farmhouse sink?

We get splashing off the bottom on to the counter top on either side of the sink. Our water pressure is on the low side of normal (pretty much the minimum that most appliances will accept).

Re: Anyone have splashing problems with farmhouse sink?

splashing has been a problem for me since I installed the sink. I have a franke faucet I think, a tall one. I've kind of adjusted to the way it works now and I just deal with it.
