Hello, all. I have an L shaped area in my kitchen. I'd like to run a Pronomen wooden countertop along one side of the L, and put a slate slab countertop along the other, which contains the sink.

I'm going to butt the two pieces and not miter them in the corner, but how should I handle the actual seam between the two materials? Bolts? Epoxy? Caulk? Or nothing between the two? They'll be at the same level.

Thanks so much, in advance. This website is excellent!

I butted two pieces of PRONOMEN together with clear caulk. Works fine. Just make sure you use the slip plates that come with your PRONOMEN to install that so you don't have warping issues. If your pieces are at the same height, I'd use that method, personally. However, after the "season" you may have to scrape it out and redo it - because of changes in humidity.

I love my PRONOMEN. Best element in my kitchen by far.

Hmmm...If you don't think you'll be doing a lot of messy work in the actual corner, I'd honestly not to anything. It'd be similar to a lot of range-countertop transitions. Yes, stuff would eventually accumulate down below, but you'd never see it so it wouldn't really matter that much. I think any effort to fill the seam will just end up getting gunky, and having no seam would encourage you to wipe away from the transition instead of over it, so it might end up staying cleaner in the long run.

Thank you, both.

My inclination is to not do anything, like you mentioned, fisheggs. I'll just try tosqueeze them together as tight as possible. And sweep the coffee groundsin the other direction!
