Domsjo with Numerar oak butcher block--height question

Hello Ikea experts...

I'm looking at my instructions for constructing the cabinet for my new Domsjo sink and am wondering if they are assuming a countertop height of 1 inch or 1.5 inches?

I'm concerned that if the instructions are assuming a height of 1" that this beast of a sink will not be resting on the metal support bars. Does this 1/2 inch difference matter? Do I raise the support bars?

I've seen in the forums that many people have Numerar and Domsjo, but haven't seen this issue discussed. Thanks much!

One of the experts will be by shortly, I'm sure, but rest assured you do not need to adjust your bar. The sink actually rests on the countertop which is in turn supported by the sides of the cabinet. The steel bar braces the sides of the cabinet, and does not support the sink. My sink, which is installed over the Numerar birch, sits about 1/4 inch above the bar. It ain't goin' anywhere.

Re: Domsjo with Numerar oak butcher block--height question

Hi sudoku, welcome!
The Domsjo sinks are not supported by those metal bars. They are supported by the countertop itself and the sides of the cabinet. The metal bars are there to help hold the cabinet sides together so there is no spreading. Therefore, I don't think the thickness of the countertop material matters. I don't have one though, so if someone has better information, please post!
