When these sinks first came out, they reportedly broke very easily. I heard IKEA was trying to make them sturdier and less breakable. Is this so? Can someone who has one of these sinks please tell me what their sink is like.

Hi tj: I have the double domsjo... and LOVE it .. mine has only been installed for about a week at this point. It's a heavy sink .... about 175 pounds. I certainly hope that it doesn't break easily ... I haven't heard that ... another member here drilled a hole for the dishwasher airvent and didn't have any trouble ...

There are many others here who have a domsjo sink that have been using it for months...

My double Domsjo appears ready to last a century or two! I love it! I speculate that the reason they had trouble with them early on was the ridiculously flimsy packing. I've never heard of one breaking while in the customer's hands, but only at the store or distribution center. If you get one, consider opening the box at the store before you haul it home.
