I really like the Adel birch but would also like a wood counter top. My floors are also hardwood, old floors and the color is darker than the birch- like a goldy oak color but the floors are not oak.. My whole house has a lot of wood, doors, windows etc in this color.

Would that be too much wood? What kind of counter tops go well with the Adel birch? I haven't even started designing my kitchen but am already thinking about counter tops, lol.

I think it will. I have oak parquet floors and Nexus Birch cabinets, and although I wanted butcher block tops I chose a black granite just to break up all the wood. Especially where you have upper cabinets, you're talking about almost floor to ceiling wood!

My kitchen is in the gallery here if you want to see. If you want wood tops, I'd suggest a white cabinet and doors to give some contrast. That combination is lovely and very cottage/classic.

Every single screw! LOL Except for the electrical, the framing and drywall and concrete for the dining room and the granite countertops, we did it all ourselves.
