Another door style to go with fagerland?

Hello,

We're thinking of using fagerland in our kitchen for the island and possibly a small hutch. We would like to use something different for the perimeter since we think all pine might look like too much pine. Is there another door style that would look good with the pine? Would some of the white cabinets work or is that too different?! Our house is new construction, small sq. ft., open floor plan and very casual.

Thanks!

are you painting the fagarland? painted it could go with a lot, not painted i'll have to think for a minute.... it's so rustic compared to the rest, so i will put my thinking cap on

not painted. We like the pine look but would like to use it sparingly. I've noticed in the kitchens catalog the pine is paired with white walls and stainless appliances, hood, etc. This seems to make it less rustic to me. Perhaps that's why I'm thinking one of the white doors would work...maybe not though. I could go with something else, but I don't want to give up the pine completely!

i'm not saying give it up, i'm just needing to think it's late, i might be all you get tonight, but i'm sure tomorrow we'll have many opinions.
and i agree that i really like the look paired with white (like the giant domsjo i love) and stainless appliances.
maybe applad white since it's simple and classic.

If you like pine but want to use it sparingly, why not put the pine on the hutch and do the rest of the kitchen in Lidingo? And I agree, the Domsjo sink would be great!

Thanks...I'll look at both the applad and lindingo doors. Would the domsjo sink work in the island? My island is fairly large, but that's a big sink! Do you think it would be too overpowering? I haven't seen the sink in person so it's hard to visualize.

I had thought about doing just the hutch in pine. DH seems to want more wood and I keep thinking about more white. We're stuck in this indecisive mode at the moment and can't seem to move forward!! Other parts of our construction have moved along smoothly, but the kitchen has been the most difficult for us. We're close to having to deal with a deadline now.

I appreciate your suggestions.

nicole, you're right, lindingo would probably look nice.
and i like the use of fagarland in the hutch too, i don't think it would look bad to have pine sneak away from the island and onto the hutch too
it was late for me last night (exhausting day) and i didn't even think about the sink in the island. how big is the island? i've seen it done before pickles did it and with painted fagarland btw, there is a 24" apron domsjo sink (i have the drop in version and so wish the apron had been available when i did my kitchen.)

Oh, that's great news that there's a 24" apron sink! My island is shaping up to be 4 x 6 ft. ...some of the 4' is a countertop overhang for the bar.

Thanks again! I needed a bit of insight and direction before I got too carried away with mixing things that would not go together. Hopefully, I'll get to a store soon to see the doors.

If you're willing to do the work, I think it'd look FANTASTIC to have a mostly-pine fagerland kitchen with a painted fagerland hutch. Lidingo would be good, too, but the smooth surface might look a little funny to the slightly stronger character of Fagerland. If you painted or pickled it, you'd still get the wood grain and knots, but the pine-ness would be less heavy.
