I am after a stainless steel sink that will be fitted like a worktop, like the VARDE double bowl one.I have heard there is a new Numerar sink or something like that that is smaller(as Vardeis 57 inches wide). I want one that will sit nicely above my sink unit and not have to be customised to fit.
This new NUMERAR sink of which you speak "worktops" a 24" sinkbase; however, Susan and I are fairly certain (yes, I speak for Susan now ) that it is a laundry sink since it it a)impossibly deep and b) has something that looks a lot like a washboard on the impossibly angled leading edge.
It is in kitchens, probably because they don't have a "laundry" department. But that sink, with the new ironing board cabinet and a bunch of 15" pullouts (raised on Capita 6" legs) for laundry baskets with a nice inexpensive Pragel countertop would make a sweet utility space!
This new sink hasn't hita catalog yet - I suspect we'll see it in the 2006-7 ones, whicharrive on our US shoressometime in August/September.
Here's a (not so good, sorry!) pic of the new (laundry) sink in the Numerar line:
Is that what you're thinking of Sarah? I don't have an item number on it as yet, but you might be able to take a picture of it into your local IKEA and ask....
Hope that helps!

I think that is the Numerar sink that is shown in the planner (2006:2 version) and it says the specs are : W 24", H 29 7/8", D 24 5/8" which is a big deep honkin' sink! I don't think it would work in a kitchen sink cab.
Um...we measured it when we were in the store, and it was definitely NOT 24" deep! It was more like 13", but I don't remember the exact measurement. We may get a chance to stop in there this weekend, and if so we'll check. Can't make any promises though, as we're coming and going to an evening event, and may not be able to stop. Depends on how early we can drop the kids off for their slumber party at Grandma's house!

Since Mollie's in the UK, I think she may be asking about the Numerar worktop sink Lisa mentions in the following thread as being only available in the UK (rather than the new sink you guys are talking about that will soon be available in the US): http://www.ikeafans.com/forums/view_...amp;forum_id=5
I don't know any details about the aforementioned UK-only sink, just thought I'd check and see if we're all discussing the same thing...
