Has anyone had any success attaching a Brita or Pur water filter on an Ikea faucet? I'm in the U.S., and unfortunately, the water filter faucet systems here are based on English units (55/64"). It appears that the Ikea faucet fittings are metric (22 mm?).
Any help would be appreciated. I'd hate to have to cave in and go to Home Depot to buy a new faucet.
Perhaps consider an under counter setup instead? Costs more initially and there's plumbing involved, but they filter a lot better and on-going costs are cheaper.
What is the metric size for the faucet head (where the aerator screws on)?
threadcount etc...?
i need to find an adapter so i can put on a portable dishwasher aerator adapter.
No one at Ikea has answered any of my questions so far.
please please help.
Bad news - I tried every adapter I could find from Home Depot, Lowes, even ordering special adapter kits from Brita and Pur. Nothing to convert metric to English in the right way. I ended up installing an undersink water filter. You might be better off trying to create a hookup in line with the cold water tap under your sink.
I found an adapter from Flow Wright #110. it is a metric female adapter M22 x 1 with a bottom thread male 55/64" x 27 to accept your dishwasher snap fitting 55/64" x 27 female. i am now trying to find out where i can buy one.....

I'm glad you went that route because we had a Pur water filter that attached directly to the faucet spout and let me tell you, after a while it stopped working. We had to change the filters even before they were due and then the sucker started cracking!!! You can imagine all the water coming our of the cracks while trying to use it.
It was a waste of money but we plan on installing a whole house filter system down the road!
