Anyone use Ikea soap dispenser before? A friend of mine bought it 3 years ago and complaint the soap dispenser keep on got problem. I wonder I should buy from Ikea or outside

It's a very handy gadget to have.

One thing you need to be careful of is to NOT mix different brands of soap, so when you add more, make sure it's the same manufacturer. When you mix soaps, they clog up the pump device and spout. I'm sure one of the chemistry majors here can explain why this is.

If you do change manufacturers, make sure to thoroughly clean out the pump before adding the new soap - take out the pump part, rinse it in warm water for a few minutes, then pump water through it like you would soap to clean out the inside mechanism. Do this twice, just to make sure. Then add the new soap.

I dilute my soap to put it in the dispenser...it clogs much less when I do that. I use about 1/4 cup water to 3/4 cup dish soap. The soap we have here in the US is super concentrated and very thick...if yours is thin, you won't need to dilute it.

Ours is on the left of our sink (although not the Ikea one) and I'm a lefty so it just seemed right , er correct!

I am thinking to get another one for handsoap.

I know it sounds crazy. But you need to wash your hand when you finish do your dish washing, right? It that is the sequence, maybe we need another one for hand cream. (ignore me, i am start getting crazy over my kitchen already)

Dishwashing --> wash hand --> hand cream
