How can I make sure to stock up on Rubrik Stainless doors before they got discontinued?
My whole kitchen uses Rubrik stainless steel doors & panels, have you guys heard anything about IKEA discontinuing them in the foreseeable future? Cos' I'll need to stock up some as spares. Thanks as always.
Re: How can I make sure to stock up on Rubrik Stainless doors before they got discontinued?
The new kitchen catalog (Susan and I both broke into a run when they were pointed out to us in Conshohoken) indicates Rubrik SS is still in force- and given how promiently it is featured in their example kitchens, I'm not worried about it. I am not 100% sure, but I beleive that they have even expanded the line with sink and cooktop cabinets (they may have already had that).
I think it's a very good idea to buy extras- the 25 year warranty should cause IKEA to stock up themselves...
Maybe it would be a good best practice to share with others on the site. I'd think that an extra cover panel and a couple of common doors/drawers would be a great idea.

I have a couple of questions for you regarding Rubrik doors and panels - that is, if you don't mind answering. What color did you use? I'd be very interested in knowing/seeing how you, or anyone else for that matter, put a Rubrik kitchen together given the limitations imposed by fewer door/drawer options offered, and what seems to me to be a lack of great alternatives for the cabinet/box colors. I'm interested in either black or white Rubrik. It was my thought that Abstract white boxes might look okay, but I'm not entirely sure the different whites will look purposeful, or more like an accident... I know contrasting colors can be used, and while I like this idea, I think, for our kitchen at least, I would prefer a more monochromatic look (but my mind remains open in this respect); unfortunately, Ikea does not make cabinets/boxes in a true black (obviously, if we were to use black we'd need to go w/ contrasting boxes). Sorry I don't have a answer to YOUR question, but any suggestions/photos as to above from someone who has been there would be more than appreciated...

Hi, of course that I don't mind answering, this is how we help each other out. But what did you mean by what color I used? There's only one Rubrik stainless steel color, right?
Please see the image. Let me know if you want to see more.
Re: How can I make sure to stock up on Rubrik Stainless doors before they got discontinued?
Well, as I mentioned in the post earlier, I don't see any indication that IKEA is going to discontinue Rubrik Stainless Steel as they have had it for many years (so they know how to make it- which is key) and they feature it prominently (so they must like it). But, I don't have any specific information, so that is just my internal narrative. I have Rubrik Stainless in my basement kitchenette.
The IKEA cabinet boxes come in white or birch and you have to cover up the outsides of the boxes with cover panels- so the only way you would get "abstract white boxes" is if you used abstract white cover panels. If you wanted to use rubrik white, you'd use rubrik white cover panels. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for your speedy reply AND for trying to educate the uneducated. I am an Ikea virgin but am trying to get up to speed on kitchens (but obviously failing) I misread the query regarding Rubrik STAINLESS STEEL cabinets - which look great by the way.
I was actually seeking info from anyone who had built a kitchen with Rubrik white, black or green glass (w/aluminum trim), any of which I actually think would look great with stainless steel), since the options/sizes are so limited (although now that I think about it, stainless steel would look better).

As someone who has been dreaming of an all Rubrik Green kitchen, I'm pretty sure there are no "rubrik white" cover panels, or Rubrik green cover panels. etc... just doors.
I finally got my Rubrik Green door shipped to me and I really like it. but i don't know how to get my entire kitchen done in it (the US doesn't have official sink cabs, fridge cabs in rubrik colros etc.)
I think you're supposed to use SS cover panels to coordinate. I could be wrong.
BTW if someone wants to help me with my all Rubrik Green kitchen plan I would love the advice! I'm deciding between that and Nexus YB.

If I do Rubrik Green I would probably do SS panels...though using NYB is interesting..... i had posted a plan using NYB bases and Rubrik Green uppers but people didn't seem to like it on here.
Re: How can I make sure to stock up on Rubrik Stainless doors before they got discontinued?
My goal is to make my "wall of kitchen" kind of fade away since it's my entry hallway. As of now i'm leaning towards all NYB, though I'm obsessing over whether I would like NExus BROWN better if it ever actually materializes. (I know the B-B will be too dark).
