Hi everyone,

I am having a hard time to use IKEA planning tool...
Especially I'm having trouble locating wall cabinet at right height.
For example, I added base cabinet and 39'' tall wall cabinet on one wall, and go to 3D mode, then I see my base cabinet is floating from the floor and my wall cabinet is sitting right on the base cabinet... I tried to modify it in 3D mode, but the software doesn't let me do that...

Another thing is that I cannot find above-microwave/fun cabinet in the tool. I see the folder, but I see no cabinet under in it...

I downloaded the tool from IKEA site a month ago, and using windows XP.
Are any of you having same problem? Or is this only happening to me??

If there are any tricks to use this tool right, please advice!

When you first fire up the planner it tells you the version number. Does your say 2006:1 or 2006:2?

If the former, then go and re-download to get 2006:2.

Thanks all for your help on this!

I installed newer version (thanks!), and tried to use more tricks I learned.

However, my stove and other cabinets are still floating and I don't have enough time and patience to deal with it.... ;(

So I decided to create own drawing manual/using excel.

The IHP is at best, a piece of crap. NA Helpdesk knows this and it trying to fix it. We can barely get the program to work right in the store. The best thing to do when your base cabinets seem to float is to start over. Often times cabinets have to "installed" in a linear order. Don't try and jump around. The wall and base cabinets will all be out of kilter. Or try the paper punchouts. They work too but tape them down before you come to order or ask questions. We appreciate that.
