I'd appreciate the forum's expertise in looking over my kitchen plan.
Background: I have a 1951 home with all cabinetry and appliances on the south wall (the one with the range in this diagram) except for the refrigerator, which is on the north wall. I live in New Mexico, which does not have an Ikea so I will coordinate a purchase from the Tempe store.
Notes:
The large door is a patio door.
The window/window combo on one wall is a half-wall and open doorway.
I have a microwave/hood combo unit to fit above the range.
The countertop and sink will actually be my own, not IKEA's
Questions:
I’m thinking of not getting feet or plinth for the base cabinets and instead building a base box and getting a facing strip or veneer - it seems like an easier option in terms of leveling the base cabs. Have others done this (problems? facing options?)?
I'm planning on using the lit shelves for base bottom on the glass wall cabs. Are these straightforward to install?
Any recommendations for an IKEAn at the Tempe store?
Any surprises for the elements I've included (e.g. have to by drawers separately)?

Welcome! I think you'll find it's far easier to level using Ikea's feet: they are each adjustable, so you can really deal well with warped old floors . The plinth/facing would have to be adjusted no matter what, so you might as well have an easy time otherwise.
Generally you have to tell the Ikea kitchen worker if you want to do customizations: more than the standard 3 drawers in a base pullout, for example, or a full width 30" shallow drawer instead of two 15" wide drawers on a 30" base drawer unit. It's worth studying the options for customizing--there are some great chances to make your kitchen more effective! I will check out your plan if I get a chance and I wish you luck no matter what.
If you save them as JPG's, you can upload larger versions of the pics. You can convert them to JPG's using Paint - just click Start and click on Run. In the dialog box that pops up, type "pbrush" (without the quotes) and hit enter. Once Paint opens, choose Open from the File menu, navigate to your file, then click the Open button. Now choose Save As from the file menu, and in the Save As Type box, choose JPG and click OK. You'll see a huge difference in the file sizes.
1) Where's your sink? Is that it above the DW? If so, it can't go there, for several reasons, including: a) it's entirely impractical to try to bend over and put stuff in the DW while you're taking it out of the sink (unless you're going to stand off to the side in the walkway, which also won't really work); b) your sink, including garbage disposal, trap, etc, will stick down too far and need to be in the middle of the DW. You MIGHT, however, consider putting it in the corner cabinet next to the DW. Still gonna be tight, though. Where does your current supply come into the kitchen?
2) On the plus side, I like the proximity of your 'fridge to the cooktop. I think that's really important. Nothing's worse than needing an ingredient NOW as you're cooking, and having to walk 10 feet to grab it as the pot is about to boil over.
3) What kind of vent are you thinking of putting over the cooktop?
4) Related to #3 - where's your microwave going (assuming you have one)?
5) The wall cab's above the sink need to be higher - you'll be splashing the bottoms a lot if you don't raise them.
6) Are we allowed to "play" with that unused corner, or is that where your table resides?
Are you wedded to a double sink? I know several people who have 'em, and most hate them. They complain that they can't get big pots into either half of the sink. By contrast, my 24" Elkay can handle everything we have in our kitchen. Just some food for thought.
