Hi.

I'm trying to install the swedish version of Ikea Kitchen Planner - without any success...
I have also tried to installed the english version, also without success.

When I have downloaded the exe-file and double-clicked it, I'll get a window that says: "Welcome to the IKEA HomePlanner Kitchen Installation Wizard".
Then I push the next-button and get a "Fatal Error" that says: "Installation ended prematurely because of an error".

I'm running Windows Vista 32-bit and I know that it has been problems running the program in Vista before. But on the download-page it says that the program now is compitable with Windows Vista.

Does anyone have a solution???

I'm sorry you're having trouble! I can't help with the technical issues, but I can offer an alternative if you want to try it. Many people here have used SketchUp to do layout, and there's a library of IKEA cabinets available. There are several threads in this forum with helpful hints, so maybe that will work for you!

Another solution is to just post up the dimensions here, along with where the windows/doors/etc. are located.

Though most of us are in the US, there are enough of us who understand metric to make up a working plan for ya.

In case you are still interested, or for other people searching for a solution: I had the same problem and managed to work around it:

From an elevated command prompt (right-click on Command Prompt in the start menu, select Run as administrator, confirm UAC dialog) browse to the directory where you downloaded the setup file (write e.g.: cd C:\users\username\etc\directory\name ENTER) and run the setup file with additional parameter to reduce GUI interaction (write: SetupHomePlanner /qb ENTER -- of course, you need to change the name if your filename differs).
