hi,
I currently have white appliances, and plan on keeping the dishwasher and stove vent hood.
I want to get an induction cooktop, and pretty much the only colour is black, or black with stainless steel trim. The oven would go underneath it and will most likely be black.
However I need to get a new fridge.
What colour should the fridge be?
Is it going to look strange to have a black cooktop and oven(located underneath cooktop) with a white stove vent hood?
The dishwasher is on a different section of base cabinets.
Same with the fridge.
I tried to reply and give some advice, but honestly, I'm not sure what I would do in your situation. On one hand, if the dishwasher would be replaced in the near future (by you or future owner), then you could do stainless or black fridge. Stainless is so popular for future resale. On the other hand, white fridge could look nice too...
You could go stainless on the fridge and cover the front of the dishwasher with some stainless FX sheeting. Stainless and black are very common together. White and black, not so much. I actually think the toughest part is the black cooktop/oven with the white hood. Appliance paint maybe?
I would get a white oven if I were you - does the oven have to be black too??? It is no problem what colour the stove is because it can blend in with the countertop. Then get a white fridge.
Take a look at this kitchen MonicaE's Blog They went with white appliances and it is awesome. Monica's stove isn't white but it doesn't really matter - as long as the microwave, oven and fridge match. I, personally, am not a big stainless steel fan. They aren't the 'be all, end all." There are a lot of advantages to plain old white. Fingerprints not showing on the fridge is a big one!
I think leaving the cooktop as the only different appliance is the best decision. Even without blending in the countertops, look how great this kitchen looks even with a different cooktop. You don't even notice really.
If you are using white cabinets, I don't think that range hood will stick out either. I agree that the cooktop in a darker countertop will also blend. I would get everthing else white, however.
