Do you have any opinions on what granite color family would work well with a NBB kitchen which has a lot of frosted glass, and a stainless rubrick
ribbon along the top drawers? My
DH
wants cinnabar red but I have a doubt about that.....

1. Granite in Kashmire White is transendent.
2. We matched nexus doors with Ackvist and looks great with glow of light behind.
3. As for paint and backsplash color, we tried many. Many greens bring out the yellow in the wood which we did not want. Perfect color for us was TEAL, and we found a rich teal glass subway tile on line.
Hello all Nexus YB fans,
I spent Saturday with a "color design specialist" who came in to discuss my funky new Nexus YB, Askvist, with Kashmire white counter-kitchen. I wanted to make sure I was introducing paint and backsplash colors that would balance the yellow-orange in the wood. After much shopping I had chosen a stunning peacock green-blue glass subway tile with more green than blue. Much to my disappointment she demonstrated this was the WRONG shade, as it emphasied the yellows while the blues made the Nexus even richer. For what it's worth, I am now looking for large frosted glass tiles in the blue teal family. I love the research part and if anyone is interested in more of this info, I'm happy to share.

Hi JeffM... we just installed our NYB kitchen, and we're at a bit of a loss for a backsplash. We're going with Ceasarstone counters in Eggshell.
What did you end up using? Any chance you could post a picture?
Wow Oneton!!! I'm glad your kitchen is installed. Do you have any pics for us to see?? I'd love to see what it looks like now. I'm also sure that it will help others considering a NYB kitchen. Thanks!
The tiles are on order to be delivered this week, from
Susan Jablon
Mosaics--which I heard about here. The color is Sub 1604 and we wanted an interesting pattern but did not want the spottiness and randomness of the rainbow color choices with mosaics. So we are using one strong color with a mix of frosted beach glass and clear polished glass in a running brick with alternating sizes.. Jablon is excited about assembling this for us as this is a totally new application with her tile. You can see the color on her site. We painted a light version of the tile (Benj Moore summer shower) on the other walls.
We are finally using the kitchen again and launched it with super bowl feast yesterday.
I have photos of the almost finished kitchen now without tile -- but need to spend some time uploading to Ikeafans. Will do this soon.
Best, Jeffm
Love reading your posts. I'm redoing the small galley kitchen in my condo which gets no natural light. The existing floors are slate like tile with many different tones (reddish, greys, browns, etc.) The laminite floor is dark red/brown mahogany.
I'm choosing between the Nexus Yellow Brown, which I love (reminds me a bit of teak), versus the Tidaholm Oak. I prefer the Nexus for its sleekness, but am a little concerned it will be too dark in the small kitchen (9X5 ft). And if it will work well for resale? My Dad (who is doing the instsallation) believes the Nexus is less durable because it is only a veneer versus the Tidaholm's solid oak frame.
The Tidaholm Oak is nice, I've seen some nice pics here and in the catalogue, but I find it a little boring.
Counters will likely be light greyish brown granite, and appliances stainless steel.
