I am now strongly leaning toward Nexus birch cabinets, but I think Nexus Yellow Brown is gorgeous and would love to use it. I can't come up with a color scheme that makes it work with my by necessity white appliances. I will consider putting panels on the microwave and perhaps fridge, but can really cover microwave/hood and the white range. I am desperate for counter top, back splash & flooring suggestions for Nexus YB w/white appliances. I will be using Lansa handles and like a contemporary look.
If you have any suggestions for the those items for Nexus birch, I'd appreciate them too. If I do Nexus birch, I think I will do the big single farmhouse style sink to tie into the white of the appliances. I am not sure that sink would work with NYB.
Thanks for any input. PS I gave up my idea of custom doors for now, as another trip to IKEA has erased any doubt I had of the quality of their doors and I have enough work to do (although if I could find quality bamboo plywood that could change).
Check out this kitchen. It uses Nexus YB with white to great advantage. I love how she has broken away from the stainless trend. MonicaE's Blog
Also another member, Turnip, is planning a Nexus YB kitchen. She is going with the white countertops (see photo) and a great green tile for backsplash. The green will also be paint colour. Finalizing plans for APT
I think I have decided to go with a darker color cork or a marmoluem click floor of who knows what color. If I go with the birch will do a blackish counter probably. Not sure if Yellow brown.
Hey... i've been referenced on a thread! I feel famous now (btw I'm a "he".. but I realize it wasn't necessarily obvious since I talk about my bf)
Anyway, personally, I really like the NYB..... getting closer to placing my order.
in terms of color ideas, I think you can totally do white appliances with it (as you see below) Or even black. I almost decided to get black appliances to match my black cooktop, but am opting for SS since people go ga-ga over it.
My counterop is going to be the off white/creamy one, but I could have easily gone with the chocolate brown one too.
And you can see the green tile, though you could probably use just about any color you like for backsplash..... esp glass tile mosaics.
I will prob go with beige walls only because i think it will e hard to match the green tile. but i originally was going to do grass green walls.
I think NYB is very versatile and can match just about anything. I could imagine orange, sky blue etc. It's very mid-century modern looking, so if you look at things like Eames chairs etc. you'll see a lot of different colors being used.
Just finishing a nexus yellow brown kitchen and found beautiful complements.
1. Granite in Kashmire White is transendent.
2. We matched nexus doors with Ackvist and looks great with glow of light behind.
3. As for paint and backsplash color, we tried many. Many greens bring out the yellow in the wood which we did not want. Perfect color for us was TEAL, and we found a rich teal glass subway tile on line.

Photos?! Don't you know the rules around here - free tips in exchange for photos? lol
I know I know. I am not up to speed on taking photos from camera and up loading to site. Rather use a hammer and drill than computer. We are still not back into the kitchen after a very long install process. With small tight kitchens there are many details left to finish. Photos to come. Thanks

I sent you a PM hoping to speak to you in person about Simon....... feel free to email/pm me if you have any more to say about him.
