Question Re: Renovating in Washington Heights

How do I post a thumbnail? Is it just uploading a jpeg or do I need to set some preference? I would never want to alienate any users (especially mac users--I am one myself--I'm borrowing a pc)

I've been blogged!
Re: Renovating in Washington Heights

No alienation!! I was just joking around! Torrus- you're a computer savant too! Nice work!

Maybe you want to post how to do it? I just provided possibly suspect instructions to Torrus that would make it easy for me to assume I provided any help! How close was I??

On the design- I like it! Any worries about clearance between the pullout and the dishwasher?

Re: Renovating in Washington Heights

I copied the 3D picture to my desktop and then edited (compressed) the picture so that I could attach it to a posting - my first stab at thumbnails.

Re: Renovating in Washington Heights

The pull-out will clear the DW, but I would suggest using 153 degree hinges and drawers inside the pantry cabinet.

Re: Renovating in Washington Heights

To do a thumbnail, just SAVE AS a bmp file while in the Ikea Planner. But the bmp is too big to upload so convert it to a jpeg in some photo software. I use JASC Paint Shop Pro or Adobe Photoshop. Then upload as usual.

Re: Renovating in Washington Heights

I just wanted to say Welcome from a fellow Manhattanite!

"West side in the house!" Riverside drive here.

My style is pretty mid-century myself, and I'm planning on Nexus YB with integrated appliances wherever possible.

Re: Renovating in Washington Heights

[quote=fondatfancy;89406]Moderne baroque is very in this year in France. Lots of black (and some white) shiney materials with baroque shapes. All the shops have stuff, from lamp shades to chairs to mirrors. There are alot of shiney black kitchens are which use the baroque style as an accent.

Oh -OK. I didn't realize it was new. I usually associate Moderne (with the 'e') as the French name for Art Nouveau. I'll have to look into that new style as it sounds very intriguing. Thanks.

Re: Renovating in Washington Heights

Howdy Turnip -- nice to meet you! I was just visiting your blog--11 rooms?? In an old lodge? Where upstate? I have been working on our cottage in the Catskills.

Zeuss, I am not sure how "new" modern baroque is--it is just back "in fashion." Modern baroque (without the e) was coined 80 yrs ago by design diva {dorothy draper}.

Without the 'e'!! That makes so much more sense. With the e it is Art moderne which is french for Art Nouveau. Now I get it. I was way off on the wrong tangent.
