So...I'm looking at Ikea UK and I'm so bummed because Ikea is offering like 4 different Electric Induction Hobs in Europe and none here in the U.S.

I've been hoping for an induction cooker for some time now but the current line up in the US is too pricey and many are not considered too dependable. Has Ikea made any mention of bringing Induction to the U.S. anytime soon?

Oh, and don't get me started on the built in espresso machine either. It's so not fair!

You are preaching to THE CHOIR!! I wouldn't wait for IKEA to bring their Euro appliances over here unless you really aren't rushing into the remodel.

You might be able to get some good deals at clearance centers if you really stalk them. Best bet is if you have a local high-end showroom that's going Wolf concept, they will be moving out all their other lines to concentrate on Wolf. Nearly any big builder's appliance group will have a clearance area (usually you have to ask to see it).

Just wanted to say that many US manufacturers have recently entered the induction market. I noticed that The Induction Site recently updated its list of US manufacturers, and I've started seeing prices coming down.

We just bought the GE Profile 30" induction cooktop - it was around $1500. I read a lot of good reviews of it and others on the market. Even the Kenmore one has good reviews.

I'll let you know next week when we get it, how it goes.
