What to order

Hi. I am about ready to go to Ikea with my kitchen plan and order my cabinets. I have a few questions:

1. I plan on stacking an oven and a GE Advantium Microwave/convection oven. Unlike a double oven which comes as one unit, these are two distinct units. Do I need to purchase a double oven cabinet and then figure out some sort of a shelf support for the Advantium?

2. I plan on getting drawers for everything I can. I have a stand mixer that I'd like to keep in a 30" cabinet. My guess is that a drawer will not be deep enough to contain the said mixer. Maybe I could store it sideways? Or do I need to get a cabinet with shelves (don't want to) or 2 pullout cabinets?

3. I have an idea of using stainless drawer fronts for the top row of my adel birch kitchen. Can i get those instead of the adel top drawer fronts or do I have to get them in addition to the adel drawer fronts?

4. Do I need a filler piece in between a wall and a dishwasher?

5. Pull-outs for trash - are 12" enough?
Thank you for your help

I don't have an oven like this, but from what I understand, generally the ovens are mounted on an oven shelf (which has special heavy duty hardware). I would think you could order an extra one of these.

I looked at mine - I think it will fit sideways. Do you have the dimensions for yours so someone can measure a drawer for you?

You should be able to just order the stainless fronts for almost all of your cabs. You may have a few where you have to order the drawer fronts as a set, and in those instances, you'll have a few birch ones left over.

I don't think you have to have one, but I might put a small one there (like a cover panel), so you don't risk the dishwasher door scraping the wall. Often, walls aren't even. Also, you'll need something (could just be a cleat on the wall) to support the countertop on that side.

Several people here have the 12" pullout for trash. I believe someone has found that a particular can (maybe called a Slim Jim?) fits well in this pullout.

Hope that helps some!

Kristen, thakn you for your help.
I don't have the measurements for my mixer, but it's a kitchenaid accolade tilt-head mixer. Their artisan series lists the dimensions as
Weight 22.8 US pound Depth 14 3/32 in. Height 13 29/32 in. Width 8 21/32 in.

Re: What to order

Okay, those dimensions will definitely fit sideways in the drawer.

Re: What to order

Hi!

Some people do a pop up stand thing (custom, non Ikea). I'd also consider using a pullout so you can have the right height internal drawer. Personally I wouldn't want to lay that thing on its side....
