I'd love some feedback on my current kitchen design idea. My wife and I are pretty happy with this but I wanted to get some other eyes on it before I placed my order (I'm about 2 hours away from the Ikea in Atlanta is I'm planning to fax my order and pick up once everything is in stock.) I read some speculation that prices will likely increase at the end of the month so I'd like to place my order in the next few weeks to lock in the price.

I'm attaching a few screen shots and the Ikea planner file. Any feedback is appreciated.

Not pictured in the images: (couldn't find them in the planner)... there will be Grundtal shelves on the wall next to the upper corner cabinet. Also a microwave hood over the range.

I had 2 goes on your kitchen and one is like yours only the island is different.
I think the storage area is far from the stove/range but that's OK.

On both the oven in the tall cabinet is suppose to be a microwave.

One other thing is that you had the Aluminum Numerar feet but in some places it gets interrupted, namely at the fridge the DW and the Stove, so a regular toe-kick would be better on those areas, leaving the opened under cabinets in the middle of the kitchen.

My 2nd take on your kitchen has the stove where the fridge was and the island moved to the right.

Where the the stove was I put a wall of tall cabinets with the fridge in the middle, this has the disadvantage of putting the storage area away from the eating area?

Also I got rid of most of the wall cabinets,but there's still room on each side of the fan, tho I wonder if it's not going to crowed that wall.

One last thing is that between the stove and the island try to get at least 44", if the island is 32" deep and between it and the wall 32" or more, that's a thing you have to check cause my plans are in metric system.

Please don't forget fillers, like at the end of the sink cabinets, and light switches, and all protuberant stuff that can mess with the opening clearance that drawers and door need to have when opened.

	DW definitions DW can mean Dear or Darling Wife (or substitute your expletive), or alternatively DishWasher. Take your clues from the context.

Thanks. Your island idea is one I never even thought of (there are so many possibilities and it's easy to get stuck thinking one way.) I'm working on a few modifications to your 2nd design idea and I think thats the direction we may head. I really like the idea of the stove being on the same wall as the sink (and just a few feet over.) I'll post the revisions soon.

With this new direction we've also decided to open up a doorway to a 7 ft wall opening into the adjoining dining room (this is the wall directly across from the sink and to the right if you are facing the fridge wall.)
