| HELP! Need kitchen cabinet planning advice
Ok, so here's my story. My wife and I are rebuilding a 1920s bungalow and are now more than a year into the project and we've still yet to start (much less finish) the kitchen. It's been a somewhat frustrating journey, but we've made alot of progress recently with the mechanicals in the house.. but we're spinning our wheels on the kitchen, which we've redesigned (layout) twice now. I think we've finally got it down to what we want, but our general contractor's cabinet guy's only product that comes close to what we want (i.e., a modern, clean-lined kitchen) is Armstrong's moderno cabinet line, and he wents 10k+ for it (including everything, but still.. that's a few thousand out of our range and it's not even a true frameless cabinet like Ikea offers..)
With that said, I think I'm leaning towards an Ikea kitchen, but have one MAJOR issue. I simply do not have the time to design my kitchen, and my wife is already taking care of our 2 1/2 year old daughter (and is now carrying #2! - exciting) and can't do it either. We DO have the layout for the kitchen we want, so I was hoping there were some services (preferably in the Atlanta, GA area) that would come out, measure, design, plan and order the kitchen cabinets from Ikea (and install as well, if they do that- I do know there are IKEA kitchen installers out there, but I have not heard of a planning service).
I know that it's probably a waste to spend money on having someone plan out our IKEA kitchen, but I just don't have the time to do it. I work 70-80 hours per week, and then come home to more work, and just can't find the time to do this. Plus I'm afraid I will make a mistake in the planning of the cabinets, and then will be required to change plans, order more parts, etc. We need this done yesterday!
The other complication is that we have alot of specialty appliances - i.e., 42" true built in fridge (i.e., 84" inches tall), 36" induction cooktop, 30" wall oven floating beneath cooktop, etc. (we were able to score great deals on used appliances) and I am afraid that IKEA cabinets won't fit these appliances and/or will have to be shaved and/or modified to fit and I want someone to plan all of that for me and actually do it (and someone who is experienced in doing all of this with IKEA products).
Is there ANYONE who can help me?? We know the exact look we want and have a layout, but just need it executed by someone with ikea expertise. I am desperate!
Thanks so much--
