Re: An Exercise in Compromise

More excellent ideas, Blue. The island must remain static- Otherwise, it would require refinishing the entire floor which is also not in the budget. Swapping out the frdige and pantry is something I'm considering since I can do all that work myself with little impact to the $.

Onyx is somewha translucent; are you planning to put LED lights underneath the countertop to light it?

Also, ditto the Avikst rec. I love abstrakt red but I think it would compete too much with your other cool ideas. We actually installed the base cabs and counters first, before finalizing the choice of upper cab materials and that turned out to be fortunate as once I could see how everything was turning out, we ditched the upper cabs idea all together and are doing open floating shelves instead.
