I'd truly appreciate it if somebody could give me some input on my plan. The opening next to the sink is going to be filled with a dishwasher. On the right of the plan there currently exists a six-foot wide closet holding my laundry. I'm planning to divide the closet making the side to the right, house a stackable washer and dryer. The open area to the left will be a recessed area for a refrigerator.
Over the peninsula where the sink and dishwasher are, it is actually currently a pass-through, also a supporting wall, so there will end up being a support post on the right end.
The space in the back with the 15" cabinet over it will house a vent hood/microwave, and a ceramic cooktop.
I had to make the room four feet longer than it really is, to get the cabinets facing out in the peninsula. There is actually no wall just to the left of the far left front cabinet that faces out (it will be flush with a wall) so there's no danger of the door front hitting a wall.
I can't make any really major location changes of the cooktop, as I live in a condominium and can't move the venting. Can't move the washer/dryer either...it has to stay in its current location.
Thanks in advance@

Reason: Forgot some details
The "framed-in" corner area to the left of where the frig. will go, is that wall the back of another room?
The plan looks nice. The only other suggestions I can make are to have a pantry unit somewhere. The only way you could do that is to have a freestanding range with a microwave hood above and put a 30" pantry where the tall oven cabinet currently is. Do you have another place to store food?
I can't improve on Laurie's comments. One reason I'm starting a kitchen rehab is to get rid of an inefficient pantry closet that blocks the view from the kitchen, replacing it with efficient pantries.
You guys are right...I'd want a pantry in the long run. I had my heart set on the double wall oven though.
So I tinkered around with my plan and re-measured the closet more carefully and found a few inches I wasn't considering, also by making the inner wall thinner. (I had it 6" thick, default, and changed it to 4" thick.)
Sooo...here's what I have now. I managed to squeeze in a pantry by switching the wall oven with the fridge. Do I need ductwork over the top of the wall oven for venting? Or is that just necessary over a cooktop?
ETA: I don't know what's behind that corner by the refrigerator...the other side is my neighbor's condo. I'm assuming it's some sort of mechanical chase...so I'm considering it off limits.

One other thing you could consider is to eliminate the blind-corner cabinet. I realize you would have dead space back in that corner, but the part of the blind corner cabinet that is taking up that run of cabinetry could be more deep drawer space, as well as the door base cabinet you have on that cabinet run as well. I would be tempted to put a small trash can pullout under the sink and not have a separate cabinet designated for trash (if that's what the door base is for). For baking sheets and the like, you could put dividers in the over-the-frig cabinet for them.
PS. I think changing the frig. and oven cabinet will work out better since it gives you a pantry. Does this allow enough space for you to still have room for the width of your stackable washer/dryer?
I like your plan a lot, especially #2. The sink is the only thing I would want to change. Can you find a way to have a regular sink in the corner or re-position something to allow a different location and a better sink?
Hi Beth...do you mean post a picture of my file using the planner format, or post a link to the Ikea file? Because I (stupidly enough) saved a lot of my personal information on the ikea profile, and feel wiggy about posting that. I'm not sure how to delete all that information (address, home phone number, etc.)
But, I could post the planner file in it's original format, if that's what you're seeking.
Here it is...

So sorry it took me this long to post again...trying to prep for a trip and I'm running out of time! Anyway, here is a plan with more drawers and a different sink idea. It uses the corner wall cab as a sink cab. There are several ways members have built out the frame to make this happen and you get a regular sink instead of the funky corner sink. Far fewer chances of drips that way!
By using this corner, I think you may be able to squeeze a big drawer cab on the other side--at worst, one of the drawers would have to be shallower to accomodate the plumbing from the dishwasher--but I think you may be able to run it down and under.
There are a few small tweaks otherwise, such as using the 36" cab pulled from the corner with a separately purchased Lee Valley blind corner unit. That leaves you room for a bigger drawer set between blind corner and sink--very useful. Note you may have to add an inch or two of filler around the sink to get door clearance on the sides. I think this is well worth it for the advanced functionality.
