Hi-
I'm wondering if any one has put a dishwasher next to a corner cabinet, the one that is shaped like a rectangle (not the one shaped like an L)? My question is, will the cabinet door opening into the dishwasher face be a problem? The dishwasher is to the right of a 30 inch sink at the bottom of the U shaped kitchen and the corner cabinet is right next to the dishwasher, on the right side of the U. (On the left side of the sink is an L shaped corner cabinet).

An alternative plan would be to have a big 36" sink at the bottom of the U between 2 L shaped corner cabinets, with the dishwasher moved to the right side of the U next to the right side corner cabinet. the problem here would be that I'd have about 9 inches of extra space at the bottom of the U; what would 4 1/2 inches of filler on either side of a 36 inch apron sink look like? and how would it be to have the dishwasher on the right wall instead of right next to the sink?

I'm stuck--any advice?

I think as long as you take into consideration how far the d/w and cabinet handles extend and have enough fill to allow clearance for the drawer on top of the cabinet and the d/w door to open you'll be fine; I can't think of why the door swinging towards the d/w would cause any special problem. However, I don't have a corner cabinet like you're talking about so maybe you'd be better off with advice from someone who does or who installs kitchens.
