Although I had a kitchen binder with all the info -- as the project progressed, it started to get quite unorganized. At some point, I started using a clipboard for all of the IKEA orders/receipts. I was able to grab the clipboard when I went to make returns, or pick up any misc. final special order items. This was esp. helpful for returns as I had items from several different receipts.

What a great idea Lisa! (Is it possible you were peeking into my living room where allmy receipts, plans, catalog, etc are stacked in a not-so-organized pile on the couch? The pile that I threaten DH's life with if hedares to touch or move it?!)

Things just slide right out of a file folder. I'm going to go get a clipboard today.

As I started to get the piles of "this is all the kitchen stuff" I realized I really needed to organize. I was wishing for a trapper-keeper (I'm dating myself here) but ended up with a product from OfficeMax that's an odd kind of mix between a binder and a notebook. It's got flexible plastic rings so you can add and remove things at will, but has a stiff plastic cover, rather than the heavy cardboard cover of most binders. But the best part is the internal folders, which have plastic "envelopes" that are perfect for keeping receipts, business cards, etc with regular-sized papers. Unfortunately I can't find it *anywhere* online, so I wonder if some prototypes wandered into my store...
