has anyone tried this? We've set up the laundry room (attached to kitchen) as the calendar, phone, etc. center -- and I was thinking that it would be cool to write messages on the cabinet doors .... I know that there are the new blackboard/magnetic ones-- I might get those if the glass idea isn't a good one?? but I prefer dry erase to chalk...

I know that dry erase markers work greaton mirrors - I bet the glass doors are fine but I'd be nervous to try it!

Lisa, I'd be particularly concerned with the frosted areas of the glass, but I don't know if there's any real basis for my concern beyond paranoia. Can you test an inconspicuous spot?

i suppose I could test one and then plan to get the blackboard/magnetic stuff if I totally screw it up??

The frosting seems to be on the back of the glass; not the front-- the front seems super shiny/smooth. In fact, I thought the frosting would help make anything written be legible -- as opposed to having a clear glass where the miscellany sitting on the shelves behind might make it hard to read...

The biggest downside that I see is that all the flecks of dry erase remnants will get stuck in the crack between wood and glass. So eventually it'll look cruddy. I do think that it'll work though without issue...

but there's no wood on these-- just the aluminum frame... so it might not be a problem to clean it out??

I had a sudden image of the kitchen designing member of a couple coming downstairs to find that their SO had draw flowcharts of application processing all accross the glass front cabinets, each module on it's own door.

Half-awake SO:

Preoccupied flowcharter: "What?" ::puzzled look::

SO: :X:X

:shock: "You said they were white boards..."
