Also, in the Finished Kitchens Gallery on the Fansite side of things (click on Home in the upper right corner, then navigate to Finished), take a look at evaperconti's Adel Birch kitchen...she used birch frames with no cover panels, so you can see how closely the frames match the birch finish in Adel.

if I could ask a few questions about your birch kitchen I will use adel)
1. Is there a posting of cabinets available in birch?
2. In one picture there are bookshelves over cabinets. Is that also a birch frame?
3.Do the birch frames match other Ikea Birch stuff like narrower shelving?
4. On the back of your island I noticed seating. How deep is that ledge? And is it adequate?

Paul, in case Eva doesn't see this, you may want to start a new thread with her name in the title to catch her attention. I believe the bookshelves in her kitchen are Billy bookcases with doors on the bottom part. HTH

Gloria: You're right - the bookcases in Eva's kitchen are billy bookcases with the birch doors on the bottom only. Also note - Eva's kitchen is Nexus birch (I have adel birch in my kitchen).

I believe all are available in birch with the exception of the horizontal wall cabs. You can successfully cover the horizontals with maple contact paper to match, though...there's a thread on it.

Those are Billy bookcases with the doors on the lower half.

They match Billy birch!
4. On the back of your island I noticed seating. How deep is that ledge? And is it adequate?
It's 10 1/2 inches, and it is fairly adequate. It was supposed to be 12 which is what I would recommend as a comfortable minimum.
