Help! I have to order my kitchen by next Thursday in order to have time to receive the cabinets and assemble them to fit into the installation schedule I have between framing, sheetrock, electrical, tile, and plumbing. Now that I have to order, I am sure I am missing some great idea on how to make this kitchen really function.

I have the advantage of moving the kitchen to a new, larger space in my house. The new kitchen is now 10' by 25'. It has a sloped ceiling that is 87" high on the sink end and 126" high on the cabinet wall end. The door and cabinet height opening by the refrigerator lead into the family/living room. The opposite wall has two openings on either side of a fireplace and go into the dining room and seating area. The table and chairs back up to the back of the fireplace. The penninsula will have the Capita angled brackets and an 18" raised countertop. There will be a micro above the stove, but I couldn't get the planner to put it in. Floors are light oak and cabinets will probably be Hallarum. I have posted the plans on Ikea. Name kthorstad@mn.rr.com password shadkat1. It is plan onedoorfinal.

Am I ready to go? Any suggestions? Need some reassurance.

It looks great! I don't think you'll get those two chairs comfortably at the end of the table, but that's not an ordering issue probably. Too bad about the short end ceiling, you've got room to do 39" cabinets on the rest of that wall.

You can probably cut the raised countertop back to 12" since it will be bar height. 18" is nice but not necessary in the least.

Your kitchen (even in the plans) looks to be beautiful and functional! I love the openess of everything and there is so much counterspace!

A little off topic... what color are you going to paint the walls?

If you're missing something, I'm not seeing it. I'm green with envy over all that space! Wow!

IIRC, the table and chairs are actually a booth setup backing up against a fireplace? Correct me if I'm wrong...

Looks great! If you can order before next Thursday, it might be a good idea to ensure timely delivery...especially if you've got a tight schedule with other trades.

You have a great memory!Therewill be a built in booth behind the fireplace. I haven't decided on wall color as we haven't finalized the countertops yet. We are looking at a recycled glass and resin material calledEnviroSlab. The custom mix the glass to order. I am waiting on a sample now and have an installer lined up. If that does not work, then we are going with Silestone Verde Meadow. The booth will be Unika Veav Look in green. Here is how that will look. Carpet in the ajoining room is medium green. So I am open to wall color suggestions!

I love that countertop...looks like terrazzo! I can't wait to see it all come together, it's going to be gorgeous!

Is that the Enviroslab countertop? That's absolutely beautiful!! And against the darker Hallarum, it will really make a statement. Great choice!!
