(I could swear that I posted this question on the tail end of a trash pullout thread last night, but I cannot find it - my account says no subscribed threads?? maybe I was tired and going nuts...)

Anyway, question for those of you with trash pullouts: Are you able to hook your toes up under the bottom of the cabinet door and pull the cabinet open? I'd like the trash to be hands free, I've looked into the foot pedal thing but then there's the issue of installing it and then apparently then the soft close doesn't work? So I'm just thinking you could open it with your foot, right? or no, is there something i'm missing?

I've found I can, if it's not too full. (I have the 15" with both trash and recycling) Usually I hook the door pull with my pinky and give it a tug, no big deal.

Hi Kirsty! Do you have a pic of your pullout? We have the 15" upstate but an only fit a single can in. I'm wondering what bins you are using to have both.

In my apt I have the 12" pullout and have the standard Ikea bins but in our upstate house we need a bigger bin (i think we use 13 gallon bags) because the "dump" is only open 2 days a week.
