Discuss Can I make a 30" pantry into a pull-out? on IKEAFANS.com. We're Personalizing the IKEA Experience. Can I make a 30" pantry into a pull-out? - Need help with planning your remodel? Want a kitchen planner to review your ideas? This is the happenin' spot!.
I have a 30" w, 24" deep pantry, which I love, except I can't see or reach anything in the back! Can I add pull-outs or drawers? Please help! I'm desperate!
Hey! I recognize your picturesfrom the Nest I used to watch your progress on your kitchen
I believe that the widest Rationel pull outs are 24" -> here
There isn't anything over a 15" pullout unfortunately. You could replace the 30" with 2-15" pullouts or possibly rig up some interior drawers for the 30". If you bought more drawers you could install them and make a simple drawer fromt to keep stuff in (I think)

I LOVE your floor! That's just gorgeous! Now that I have that out of the way...Welcome to the forums!
As for the question...I think Stacy is on to something. The 30" wide pantry is the same "box" as the 30" oven cabinets. You may be able to outfit your pantry with a deep drawer at the bottom and one in the middle and then attach doors to the deep drawer kits. (I think. Someone with a pantry needs to check me on this, because I've never done this, I'm just speculating.) I think there's an additional part you need? Add some shallow drawers to the mix, and put some vertical dividers in the small "doorspace" at the top for trays and so forth, and you've got a nice modded up pantry.
Hopefully someone who knows more about the parts and pieces will come along...:?
Susan

I have a couple of theories, yet to be implemented so take this with a grain of salt. Either method would require the 153 degree hinges so you can open the door wide enough to get the sliding things out.
1. You could probably cut down the width of the existing shelves and put them on glides. I just got a pair at Home Depot for about $12, and it looks pretty straightforward. You just screw two parts to the inner "wall" of the cabinet, and screw the other two parts to the sides of the shelves. You could add a trim strip at the front and back of the shelves to prevent things falling out.
2. Maybe you could construct the 30" drawer box, using a Rationell drawer front but without the panel that goes across the front. The part looks like this, but the widest front is 24". Still, it might be stable enough with just the black plastic parts that would cap off the drawer box sides.
