I will attempt to clarify some of the 24" cabinet combos that I have suggested in other postings:
1. A 24" pull-out pantry is now possible (this is actually listed in the new
Akurum
Kitchen System guide) - HPO2480 & HPO2488 - the same set-up as the existing 15" pull-outs. You can also use the new 153 degree hinges (not right beside a wall) and have the drawers pull out individually.
2. For base cabinets there are several ways to incorporate 24" deep and shallow drawers:
a. use the 12x30 doors (or 12x24) with the 153 degree hinges and have the drawers on the inside
b. use a combination of 6" drawer fronts and/or 24x15 or 24x18 doors to create a bank of drawers -
ie
. two 6" drawers and one deep drawer attached to the 24x18 door (note: you need to purchase a 15"
Rationell
drawer front for the template and hardware); or two deep drawers with 24x15 doors as fronts
c. use one 6" drawer and two 12x24 doors (sideways) - this will work visually with only some door styles
Please note that the drawers will not line up with a B3D or B4D cabinet - also, as with all modifications there may be instances where new holes need to be drilled, etc. for everything to work properly.

Akurum definition
Akurum is the North American equivalent of FAKTUM; that is the fitted, frameless, component kitchen cabinet line, which when paired with door and drawer fronts as well as interior accessories makes up the full kitchen cabinet system.
Rationell definition
Rationell is a line of kitchen products that enhance the basic AKURUM/FAKTUM lines, including the Blum-made drawer boxes.
The B3D24 is being introduced in North
America
with the same drawer heights as the B3D15/18 - Adel, Abstrakt, Stat and Kalsebo are currently in the IKEA (
Canada
) system - supposedly all doors styles will follow suit. The deep drawer fronts are sold in sets of two (same as Rubrik stainless), the 6" front must be purchased seperately.
New door sizes are: 24x24", 24x30" and 24x39" (again, all styles except Arlig which doesn't have the 39" door option).
There is a 24" cooktop coming, perhaps also a 24" wall oven...

Woo-hoo! 3 drawers in a 24" cabinet? That's great! Also nice on the smaller footprint appliances. Now if only they had a 24" fridge and 18" dishwasher...
YAY!!!!!!! I am so psyched about the new 24" drawer fronts. I can't believe our kitchen-building procrastination -- I mean, cautious, deliberate pace -- is actually paying off.
