Rumor has it that you can build a pullout pantry similair to the 15 x 24 if you have the right parts

Has anyone tried this?

I am thinking it would just be an assortment of drawer parts like the 12 inch pullout base cabinet

Thank you for pointing this out to me

I also purchased the HLPO2480 thinking it was a pullout pantry but it is not

Best Ikea can do is tell me to put in pull out baskets

They mentioned a tipping issue with the 24 inch pullouts if they are not attached to the rail system

They said many people do not attach the High Cabinets to the rail system. As a matter of fact the person in the store, when I purchased all my cabinets, told me it was not needed for them

I am going to discuss this with my wife and see what she thinks.

Again thank you for pointing me in the right direction now it is just a matter of deciding to go off down the path of modifying the one I have to the one I wanted.

The rail is not needed for high cabinets because they should be bolted straight to the wall, just like the base cabinets. You will notice that they even come with the proper hardware for that.

P.S.: Don't believe in everything they tell you at the store.

I think that the high cabinet would tilt a bit if you used the rail, since it doesn't have the corresponding lip at the bottom to hold it straight from the rail against the wall.

The 24" deep pantry does not use the suspension rail but it bolted to the wall just the same. The pull-out should not cause any problems - it is listed in the ne Akurum buying guide.
