Hi, I'm new here to IKEAFANS. I've lurked here for a while and now I have reason to ask for some help.

I have this tiny kitchen that hasn't been updated for years and it is in desperate need of attention. I'd like to update the look of my kitchen so it looks more modern and has a cleaner, brighter feel. Looking through my options, I really like the look of Ikea's cabinets and thought that they might be the solution I need, so I played around in the Home Planner and came up with the attached plan. Also, I have never remodeled a kitchen, much less anything else before.

The pictures I have uploaded show the current condition of the kitchen. Because this is an apartment-style condo, I cannot do major renovation such as moving walls. Also, due to the limited space, I cannot move the sink or appliances, so this is basically just a cabinet replacement plan (including replacing the sink and range). I think I could move the refrigerator over 24" to accomodate the attached plan.

The corner by the sink and the dishwasher is basically dead space and I cannot figure out a solution for that. Would I just have to not put a cabinet in that corner and cover that area with the countertop?

Also, is there anything IKEA specific missing from the plan that would be necessary in the remodel?

I think I somehow linked a whole bunch of photos in the galleries section that don't belong to me - sorry. Is there a way to fix that?

Sorry about the glitch with the images , I could mostly explain it, but it wouldn't interest anyone but myself and maybe a fellow technoweenie. Susan pretends to listen, but I know it's just noise most of the time .

Anyway, should be all fixed now. Major congrats for getting all the images uploaded and associating them with the thread (not your fault the system went kablooie on you). Bad Image gallery, Bad Gallery! No cookie for you!

Really quickly because I don't want to open the planner right now. If you use a smaller sink base with single bowl, it looks like you can save enough room to sneak in the 37" corner cab, with an 18" dishwasher on its current wall (I know, it's smaller, but it would work better. Then in the other corner, you can do a blind corner arrangement with the 36" cab pulled out 7-8" and fitted with Lee Valley's blind pullout insert (so it takes a max of 44" rather than the almost 49" of the Ikea version. It looks like that would leave you room for a small cab between that and the fridge. Now your corners are useful!
