Question Please help me choose my door/drawer pulls! (Lansa vs. Strecket)

My kitchen installation is almost done. It's Tidaholm Brown Black. (I tried to upload a pic but it was sent to a gallery somewhere, I'm new here!)

My original decision was to install the 6 5/16" (smallest size) Lansa pulls in a horizontal position.

But I can't bring myself to install them.

Some of the display kitchens at my nearest store have Lansa pulls positioned horizontally and I think they look lovely. But for some reason I am having a hard time biting the bullet and installing them on my beautiful new doors.

Now I am considering taking a more minimalist approach and using the Strecket pulls instead.

If I go with Strecket, what is the common approach? Use the 1" size for doors and the 6 5/16" size for drawers?

All comments are greatly appreciated!!!!

Have you considered knobs for the upper cabinets? I've got the Lansa installed horizontally on my Nexus Birch cabinets, and they do make a strong linear statement. For me, that works, but with the Tidaholm it might be a bit too much.

I agree. With Nexus, or any door with a flush profile, I think I would feel better about using Lansa.

Does anyone out there has Strecket pulls? If so, how do you like them?

Lansas are handsome, but they do compete with, say, attractive wood. Also, I wonder about them catching pants pockets. At the last minute, I exercised my male right to bullheadedness and decided to try Glitter handles on my precious new oak Tidaholms. Horizontal below, short ones mounted vertically on wall cabinet doors.

I'm not sure the Glitters are less attention-grabbing than Lansas, but they are impressing me as ergonomic/comfortable to use.

Knobs for doors is definitely a good idea.

Re: Please help me choose my door/drawer pulls! (Lansa vs. Strecket)

I have the Strecket pulls, and I'm having a hard time imagining the two larger ones on a framed door (as opposed to a slab door). The smallest one may work fine, but my inclination is towards a knob, as suggested above.

I've seen a gallery where each drawer had two 1" strecket on either side. Any feelings about this approach?

I think if the color and finish match this is an option that will keep your beautiful wood stand out:

If not maybe one the the following:

http://www.ikea.com/PIAimages/73609_PE190376_S4.jpg

http://www.ikea.com/PIAimages/73613_PE190380_S4.jpg

All 3 have 2 different sizes for you to put horizontal, for drawers or doors, etc.

I'm not sure but this one could also work:

In the end it will also depend how your fronts are in the all picture.

Smaller handles on the upper doors, long ones on the bottom drawers.

Well it's a decision you have to be a bit careful and it must be decided accordingly to your layout.

Good luck

Re: Please help me choose my door/drawer pulls! (Lansa vs. Strecket)

I personaly dislike having to open a drawer with two separate handles like strecket.

The regular ones or round knobs sound more smooth to me to be used in pairs.

Or a single 30" long one.

Just my opinion of course.

The ones Dave mention are very nice and minimal too.

Nice on the light oak, don't know on a dark oak like yours.

That Tidaholm style is traditional and modern at the same time.

Very nice, smooth, natural, robust looking but that duality makes it hard sometimes to make some decisions about all the kitchen...

Re: Please help me choose my door/drawer pulls! (Lansa vs. Strecket)

I confess I don't like either Lansa or Strecket. Dave's look good if you want sleek. Or just a simple long sleek curve that can't catch on anything and isn't flashy. I like knobs on uppers too, but handles are fine. I do think it's odd to have horizontal handles on swing open cabs, though.
