Ok. So we went back to Ikea today and just couldn't decide on a door style. So, we decided to get Fagerland and paint. My DH loves the glass uppers. I think we might end up painting the upper and lowers different colors ( a look I love).

Without knowing the paint color. My question is what interior whould you choose - White or Birch?

this is a general question that someone else can hopefully answer, which might be useful to you... aren't there some cabinets not available in birch? if so and it's a cab you want to use then your decision is made for you.... i really really really like the birch interior, but think it's dependent on your paint colors as well

All cabinet boxes except for the horizontal wall cabinets are available in either white or birch. Horizontal wall cabinets are (as yet) only available in white.

I think Dulci has a good point in that the colors you choose to paint make make the biggest difference. Not knowing what color you'd choose, I'd go with white. But that's me...I have white cabinets!

susan, thanks for the clarification... so if you want horizontal white is what you get oddly i have white cabs too yet still love the birch i imagine a lucious burgundy paint (thanks to pickles) on the fagerland, with the birch showing through the glass.

any thoughts of colors you are leaning towards? course i'm a crazy decorative painter. everyone holds their heads when i tell them my color choices.... then they see it and are converted

With the glass door cabs, I think if they're painted white, the interiors should be white. Otherwise, with any other color (including cream), I'd go for birch interiors.

So we did a stain test of Fagerland, which was interesting. It really enriched the color. (all we did was a light sand with 240, then stained). But, the country feel of the door is not really right for us.

So, onto another idea. We are thinking TIdaholm cabinets for all solid doors and Fagerland for the glass ones. I plan on doing a test using turqoise paint. I think once all the doors are painted it should work. I also may paint my large pantry cabinets and Fridge wall creamy white.

Then once again VCT (in a large diamond pattern), Jenn Air floating glass appliances in white and concrete counters.

Will be testing this week. I'll post if we like it.
