My Ikea kitchen plan nearly finished, I just discovered they do not do built in washing machines. Can I fit one into a standard 60cm unit? Thanks!!!

Well, we Americans love big appliances, and there was no way to incorporate my washer and dryer into my kitchen plans; even front loaders are higher than a standard countertop and stackable units were very expensive and really not much of a space saver, imo . I ended up sacrificing two closets to make an upstairs laundry and it has worked out great. The amount of space it freed up in the kitchen is significant, almost 10 sq ft.

Integrated washing machines in Europe are the right size to match Ikea cabinets. You'll need a 60 cm door from Ikea to attach to the hinges on the washing machine. The depth of the Faktum cabinets without the door is 58 cm, so just make sure you leave a space with water and electrical hookups - usually in the adjacent cabinet under the sink, but behind if there is enough space for the washer to fit flush in 58 cm.

	Faktum definition Faktum is the European equivalent of Akurum; that is, the fitted, frameless, component kitchen cabinet line, which when paired with door and drawer fronts as well as interior accessories makes up the full kitchen cabinet system.
