My cabinets are going in tomorrow, and my local store just got the 24X88 cover panels in, so off I go. One is for my pantry side and the other for my cabinet depth fridge side.
I just thought about something though:
1. What is the advantage to using the larger 3X8 fridge panel? Since my fridge is already cabinet depth I thought the 24x88 would be fine.
2. What about the height of the cover panels? Will these be tall enough for both the fridge and the pantry? My fridge is 70 inches plus 24 for the above cabinet fridge. So would i then need the bigger 'fridge panel?

Re: Pantry Cover Panel vs Fridge
The 3x8 panels are used where the 80" and 88" panels won't work - places like the back of an island, or if you had "built out" you fridge cabinet. It sound as if the 3x8 isn't needed in your kitchen.
As for the height issue, if your fridge is 70" and you have a 24" cabinet above it, you're beyond the height of the 88" panel. You could use a 3x8 for that, but my solution is to cut off one of the back, hidden corners (they'll be buried between the fridge cabinet and adjacent wall cabinet, or fridge and base cab, where no man dares to roam) of the 88" panels before you install it. Then install it to line up with the top of the fridge cabinet, and then scarf in a bit of the cut corner to fill in the 1" or so that's missing at the bottom of your 88" panel.

Hey Chuck, I'm trying to figure out what to do with my "88 pantry+ 70 fridge next to it" section.
I was hoping to use the 24" high over fridge cabinet, but I only have 23" of clearance. Doing as you suggest, I could stretch the fridge cover panel up one inch vertically, but that doesn't stretch the pantry up to 89". Do you have any creative ideas on how to handle that situation, where there is an 88" pantry next to the fridge?
The way I see it, I either have to have a strip of filler at the top of the 88" pantry and then the 24" doors don't line up at the top, or I have to put the filler down below, and then the bottom of the cabinet doesn't line up (and the toe kick isn't tall enough).
