Below is a link to my layout -
I would welcome any feedback.
The sink cabinet is appearantly for the Domsjo Double (below the window) - i am trying to locate this sink! It doesn't look like I have the right cabinet in place for the Domsjo - can it be modified if I actually find a Domsjo?

Any thoughts on having a cooktop at the end of the counter? I suspect if I have a 36" cabinet below the cooktop I can center it and it wont appear to close to the edge or create a hazzard for little hands reachin up.

do all double ovens fit this openning for the built in oven? suggestions on appliances?

General thoughts comments?

Thanks! chris

I would guess that the sink base is #7, the dishwasher is under #11, and the cooktop base is #9. Ovens are in the spaces in #4, and the refrigerator is in #14. And Colonel Mustard did it in the billiards room with the candlesticks. Gotta go make breakfast. Back later--looks nice on first glance, carobin!

Looks good at first glance. I think that the cooktop might be a bit of a hazard being so close to the edge of the counter and the door, but I don't know where else you could put it. I would prefer it if there was space on either side of the cooktop for a landing pad, at least 12 inches on one side and 24 on the other at a minimum. Also, you have no place to put things you will be taking out of the oven unless you walk across the doorway over past the cooktop to that counter. That's not ideal.

Could you swap the fridge over next to the dishwasher (convenient to share water lines, too) and make that area where you currently show the fridge your cooktop area instead? Then you'd have adequate landing spaces on either side of the cooktop, and a countertop closer to the ovens as well.

interesting point - what if the cooktop is a 30" on a 36" cabinet which can allow some breathing room on either side or it could favor the left side allowing for more space on the right for placing items from the oven.

the frig. currently is in the location your suggesting - but we dont like having it cornered and opening against a window.

another Question for anyone - the corner of the room just to the left as yoru facing the location for the cooktop has some pipes running vertically which is covered by sheetrock (approx an 8" X 8" box which will interfere with the corner cabinets - how practical is it to notch out the corers of these cabinets? I am concerned with doing any modifications to the cstructural aspecs of the cabinets. any suggestions?
