Should I paint the walls before installing the new cabinets? Or should I do it afterwards?

Suggestions? Tips?

It is much easier to paint before IMO . Less worry of getting paint on cabinets (I'm a sloppy painter) and less to tape.

Yep...if you have the chance to paint before, it's much much easier!

I do both, but mainly because I hate painting. I agree that its probably easier to do before, I just don't have the pre-planning skills

If you do decide to install some cabinets first (and its hard to have boxes of cabs hanging around & having to wait for the painting!), just tape, tape, tape. Personally I don't mind taping - esp. when it means putting off painting.

So Dave, what you're saying is that you're a taper, not a painter...

Before or after? BOTH!

Two coats before and plan to touch it up after. That was you don't sweat those little smudges on the wall.
