I am planning on using 39" wall cabinets. Can I use a 30" cabinet where the range hood goes? It looks okay in the planner, I assume just drill the hole for the vent pipe ducting. Am I on the right track? (I don't have my range vent hood yet).

Yes, you can, provided that gives the right amount of clearance between your hood and the top of your stove.

I answered this on your other post, but I will repeat it here so it doesn't get lost:

Some of your designs seem to crowd your doorways a bit. You want at least 36 inches between the corners of the adjacent cabinets.

I think a design with the fridge on the short doorway wall and creating a butler's pantry area in that other corner area would be a really nice layout for you. The fridge would be by itself, but adding a cabinet above and a panel on the side would be nice. That will consolidate your work triangle and allow the pantry area to be accessible without being underfoot. It would be a good place for the microwave as well as dish storage. I added a wine storage tower that could be floor to ceiling at the end there, and you could always put a secondary bev fridge in place of one of the base cabinets.

Here's an overhead view so you can see the opened-up passageways from the doorway areas. The fridge size is 36 inches, and I used a range as a placeholder instead of the cooktop/oven combo.

Thanks so much for taking the time to look at my design. I love what you laid out but I don't know if it will give us enough storage space. I would like anarea for a bottled water dispenser, a place for dogfood storage and a trash area/pull-out.

As far as the fridge goes, the door opens from left to right and it's not changeable. We have a 14" wide/24"deep pull out pantry right now built-in next to the fridge (which is a 30" subzero built-in). It only gives us about 28" to walk through. We seem to manage but I guess it's just what you are use to. (Next to the pull out I also have a 12" deep x 35" wide ikea bookcase that I use for pantry items, so it's really narrow. I guess I'm use to that and I was trying to maximize the small kitchen. I certainly don't want it to turn out too crampt though.
