does anyone have the high gloss white Giman countertop?
I'd been considering the Giman in high gloss white as an island option for a while. Now that I have found it for less than half price I have pretty much decided to go ahead and purchase it.
Does anyone have it? If so, are you happy with it? Is it prone to stains? Easy to clean?
I have always had laminate counters. I never had any problems, no scratches, burns and the like. So, I'm very concerned about those issues.
My friend told me that fingerprints may be an issue due to the high gloss finish. I've seen it in the store and haven't noticed fingerprints and I'm sure it has been touched by the masses. However, I don't think I can deal with another surface that shows fingerprints. I have black appliances which I am constantly wiping fingerprints off of.

I did get. I have only opened the box to inspect it. Last night I decided on the cabinet configuration to go underneath and tonight we went & picked up the frames (doors/drawers have yet to be determined). Hopefully I can get them installed tomorrow. So, I'll have to get back to you on how much I like it. I also need to find bar stools as

doesn't feel the frame is strong enough.
We assembled the cabinets tonight. We set it in place (which wasn't a easy feat as it was just the two of us to lift and place the 48" of cabinets on the floor) where we planned it would go. Tomorrow I'll work around it to see if I like it in its current location or if we need to move it. Once I figure that out I'll put together the Giman and attach it.
I've requested info from Scherr's on custom doors & drawers. I am hoping their price will fit my budget or I'm back to my plan of painting Ikea's.

Welll I'm totally disappointed! When I purchased this a few weeks ago I opened the boxes to check there was no damage and found nothing wrong. Today was install day. I installed the two side panels pretty much without a hitch, only one minor adjustment to one side. Then when I got

to help me lift the top into place we immediately noticed that one corner wasn't resting on the side panel. The top is warped! I went out of my way to purchase this darn thing and will not make that trip again. I know that this finish is being discontinued but if anyone is considering it I would advise them to check the pieces thoroughly not just for scratches and dents as I did.
