Is there anyone out there that might have a handle on what new cabinet styles\colors Ikea might be planning for the near future (within 6 months) or what might be discontinued?
I'm sad that the Adel Cream and Stat Yellow have been discontinued. The white white is ok but not really what I had my heart set on. I'm wondering if I should wait a little but am worried :shock: that my second choices (Lidingo, Stat white, and Adel white) might get discontinued if I wait too long.
Anyone "in the know" about these things out there?
Here's what I know: Discontinued doorstyles fall into two categories.
Category 1 -- In the past, door styles that weren't included in the current year's catalog were almost certain to be axed at the end of the catalog year (end of June), and sooner if supplies run low. No guarantees. Each store is different in what stock they carry, so you may be able to get that door you need from a different store if you're persistent and clever.
Ramdala was not included in this year's catalog. Toll the bells.
Category 2 -- Door styles which are included in the current catalog, but are to be discontinued have a good chance of not being completely discontinued until the end of the catalog year(end of June), but may go on sale prior to the end (i.e. May, June). Typically the sale starts at 30% off, then 50% off. After that, things go to AS-IS. At least, that's what I've seen happen.
Two of my little birdie friends have told me that Duvbo and Adel Medium Brown(WHY,oh WHY???) may be on the discontinued list for the end of this catalog year. Bear in mind this is unconfirmed at this point in time, but the possibility has been mentioned.

Anyone else notice that there is no display kitchen in the new kitchen catalog for the Adel Medium Brown? Susan, is it possible that they may axe it?:shock:
It's true that Duvbo and Adel Medium Brown appear to headed into oblivion:shock:, IKEA looks at world-wide sales and trends (remember Askerum?) when deciding which door styles to keep - let's hope that the replacements are worthy.
Judging from the interest here, I thought Adel brown would have real staying power. I'm surprised, but if the replacement is anywhere near as buzz-inducing as Nexus BB, it should be a winner.
Adel medium brown is a huge seller in
Canada
- but only a small part of the world market. Nexus brown-black caught everyone off-guard (hence the shortage) but will be one of the top sellers in 2007.
