I'm planning my kitchen remodel, and I'm thinking to install a slide-in range next to a dishwasher. I've never had a slide-in range before, and I'm wondering if it puts a lot of weight on the countertops. I read the FAQ on End Run Dishwasher. Will installing an oven panel between the DW and slide-in range work?

Also, a base cabinet will be on the other side of the slide-in range. Do I need another oven panel between the cabinet and the range? Thanks in advance.

Are you talking about a slide in range, or a drop in range? Slide ins don't rest on the countertop at all. The countertop goes around them, so they differ from freestanding in that way, and the sides are not finished either. You would want an end panel to support the countertop above the dishwasher, but there is no need for one next to the range if you have a cabinet there already.

edited to add: "oven panels" are the front panel for the tall wall oven cabinet. What you're talking about would be called "base cover panels".

Thanks for the reply. I'm thinking about slide-in ranges, such as the KitchenAid KGSK901SSS or the Jenn-Air JGS8860BDP. Thanks for the tip on the base cabinet cover panel.

BTW, thanks for your tip about Scherr's for custom doorsinmy previous post. I looked at the website, and it looks promising.
