I thought I'd post some more pictures for IKEA Kitchens in 2010. There are a couple from the catalog launch, and a bunch from some of the press materials.
Abstrakt Grey - I hear this is the 4th time ABSTRAKT Grey has been in the range. This time, it's a richer, darker grey than last time out.

RUBRIK Copper Effect - This is a fairly convincing foil over melamine door. It's not actual copper which has its upsides - no fingerprints! The color is very good, and it has a bit of a brushed effect.

I noticed in the new online catalog that applad black is now listed as a "take it home today" finish.
How accurate do you think this information is? I'm just about ready to buy my cabinets... mostly applad black.
I would say it's probably accurate, but maybe not today. I think that most items that are in the IKEA catalog as new, or those for which there are changes (i.e. new colors, styles, or availability) are expected in stores by October 1st. I know there's a lot of variability, though so I'd definitely check with your local store to find out for sure. Can you report back what you find out?
I'm pretty sure Applad black has been out for a while--the random door I just checked is listed as available today in EPA, if that's any help! No guarantees, of course, but a good sign...
LOVE the new Varde cabinet with the 4 white drawers and wonder whether these drawers would be big enough to hold files? Or what else could be put into them as the look like an unusual size?

designbymeiny - I didn't see the new VARDE piece (though I'd love it if someone who does could take pictures and post!), so I can't answer with any authority. I can try to find out the dimensions and see if we can mentally calculate...
jonshepi - YES! It does say 15 year warranty! I'd love to know how these knives handle. I saw them at the event, but I didn't pick them up...waa! Now I'm regretting so many things I didn't touch, feel, see or sit on.
