Akurum hole spacing

What is the exact side hole spacing for the Akurum Cabs? It's about, but not exactly, 1.25" It's probably a metric spacing?

Thanks!

Bill

Re: Akurum hole spacing

The spacing seems as odd in metric as in US customary (which by the way defines an inch as exactly 2.54 cm)

Re: Akurum hole spacing

The pitch of the holes in most Ikea cabinets ( ie .: Aukurum, Pax, Besta, etc) is exactly 32 mm, which is a fraction of a hair short of 1.26", although 1.25" is a close enough approximation for simple, basic calculations.

Re: Akurum hole spacing

I've seen it elsewhere on this site listed as 33mm..

It doesn't matter for 1 hole; for 10 or more, it begins to make a difference.

Re: Akurum hole spacing

It would make a difference over many holes. So is it 32 mm or 33 mm?

We have to make alternate holes in the upper corner unit (and in the shelves, but that is the easy part) since we had to mod it for our electrical panel.

Re: Akurum hole spacing

First a little trivia:

A 24" tall cabinet measures 611 mm (according to the Ikea web site) and we know that it has a total of 19 holes (including invisible, "half-holes" 0 at the bottom and 19 at the top).

A base cabinet measures 771 mm (according to the Ikea web site) and we also know that it has a total of 24 holes (including invisible, "half-holes" 0 at the bottom and 24 at the top).

Then we do the math:

611 / 19 = 32.157

771 / 24 = 32.125 .....QED

Bottom line:

Whichever way you look at it (even by checking different cabinet heights), it's always closer to 32 than 33. And besides that, my metric ruler also tells me the same.

Re: Akurum hole spacing

Thanks, that clears up a lot and will help us to line up the holes that DH cut out of our corner cabinet.
