I am seriously thinking of placing our order on Wednesday in order to get the $250 gift card.

The problem is we will not be able to start the actual assembly until the beginning of January. This isdue to heavy schedules between now and then, and the guy who is going to be doing most of the prep work not starting till mid December.

So would it be a mistake to order if we will not be potentially opening boxes for 60 days from order, or 45ish from pickup?

I have asked a similar question before, so sorry if you think I am repeating myself...:-)

The $250 could go a long way towards all the fixtures etc

My store told us we could ask for delayed delivery, which is what we were going to do until our contractor changed the date from January to early December. So, we were told we could order and pay now to take advantage of the event, and get it delivered in December. Maybe your store can do the same?

First of all, Mandy fire your contractor, a 11 month delay is unacceptable!

Second, if you get your boxes early, you could stack them in the corner of your garage with little problem.

Go for it!

Archie,
I think Mandy meant they were GOING to get delayed delivery for January, but their contractor moved it UP to December, so they don't need to delay it now!! Not 11 months back, but 1 month UP.

Yes - the contractor is coming in December (6 weeks from now) instead of January (10 weeks from now)!

Well it is done!

I left a message at the store to ask them, but they hadn't got back to me. So I decided to go down in person (it is great having a store only 5 miles away!).

Instead of just asking the question, the lines had suddenly gone down so we went ahead and ordered instead. We managed to get the deal, in fact 2 gift cards as it was $5000 by the time we added a few bits and bobs to get us to 2 X $2500. We are now scheduled to pick up on Dec 10th!

For reference, and I will add this to the correct post, but we had Guy helping us out in theAtlanta store. He was great and certainly knows his stuff. Highly recommended.

Thanks for all the help in getting us to this point. I cannot believe how easy the process actually went, but only because I had most of the answers due to the help from this site.

I have converted my draft orders etc into Excel if they will help anyone. However after mixing door styles in some units the list may be more confusing than helpful.

Now what are you going to do with the $500 in gift cards? Another room must need redoing, right?

oh lordy, I don't think so just yet!

We are half way through decorating another room right now so we need to get that finished, and then we have about 2 other large projects, unfortunately those probably do not need Ikea stuff, more doors & frames.

I am sure we are not going to have a problem spending it though. Still need to order lights, and some more dividers etc.

In fact it was one of those movie moments yesterday. We were at $4800 and decided we should get it to$5000 to get both gift cards. So I gave my wife the line "okay you need to spend $200 in the next couple of minutes.....go". A line that I don't think I have ever delivered to her before!.

Ken, That is soooo cool. I'd love to hear that line ... I know exactly where I would have headed ... on over to the area where the hardware is ... all those cool gadgets for organizing the drawers ... rails for the backsplash ... Did they have you split the order into two orders ?

Have fun....

There is a maximum number of order lines you can have on one order, so there were already 2 separate orders.

But I don't think this would have made a difference. It wasn't like we had to make them both = $2500.

We basically picked up all the handles, some drawer liners, and some drawer organizers to get us to the amount we needed. I think we werenearly thereand Guy just said, that's close enough. It's not like the computer spits out the gift card automatically, it is more of a manual process.
