latest ideas in our kitchen

Thanks to all those who gave me advice and ideas for our kitchen update! I've been playing around with it and have found a setup that my wife really likes. Sadly, I don't believe we're going to be in a financial position to demo a wall and install the huge windows that were suggested. It would be a fantastic idea, but I think it's cost prohibitive right now. She is, however, considering new appliances--so I may be revamping this idea again soon!

I'll have to see if I can get my wife to give more credence to the work triangle theories that were shown here; it may convince her to at least consider that freestanding option shown last week.

I changed the color of the cabinets as I'm concerned the ADEL MB will give us problems (as I've read about supplier concerns and shade differences due to different manufacture sites).

Nevertheless, the latest *.fpf file is attached. If you'd like to have a look and give me your thoughts, I'd love to hear 'em!

You realize that you could still do my plan without the expensive structural changes, right?

The doors and windows don't have to be changed to make it work. It would just be nicer, not necessary.

Here are some screen shots for those who don't have the planner:

@Zeuss: thanks for the advice; I'll make the changes.

Seems as though my wife is really dead set against moving that sink; not sure why. We've got plenty of time to figure it out, of course.

Thanks for the ideas. I do appreciate it! I'll be showing more progress as we go along.

I agree with zeuss that the corner cabinet doesn't look right w /o having a cabinet on both sides. I would definitely consider a cabinet next to it.

What is in the corner? Am I missing something obvious?

I like this plan but I think the fridge is a bit far off.

Re: latest ideas in our kitchen

@crg2mls: That corner is very close to the window over the sink. Possibly, I'll change that corner cabinet to something else. I've got plenty of time to work with this as we plan on starting this project next year.

I do appreciate all the ideas, so don't hesitate to throw 'em out there! I'm still suggesting moving the sink, etc. into the middle of the room, but we'll see.
