The kitchen opens into the dining room and living room and has a light/neutral colored tile floor, while the dining and living rooms have oak-ish hardwood (these are the floors that came with the house). We'll have liljestad doors and white pragel countertop. I'd like to go with a blue like "woodlawn blue angel" (#5003-9B) [http://www.valspar.com/explore-color...-a-color.html] in the living/dining areas. We have dark brown living room furniture and off-white & brown sofa; I really like the brown-blue look. I've never seen a kitchen with blue walls before; would it look alright? Any other suggestions?

Blue used to be a customary colour in kitchens.

Blue and white delftware tiles decorated the walls, sides of fireplaces, etc. Monet's home in Giverney also has a kitchen with blue and white tilework, while walls, ceiling and furniture are also painted in shades of blue.

Two of these shades are very strong, I like the light periwinkle blue.
Woodlawn Blue Angel is also a very nice shade of blue.
