After literally years of planning, and living with doorless modified IKEA cabs, I am just getting ready to hit "send" and place my whole order for custom doors and drawer fronts (total of 53 pieces!).

I am so nervous that the measurements I gave will be off just a little - either too big or too small - or that I messed something else up somewhere. This is where being OCD would really come in handy.

And, as always, I could never have done this without ikeafans!

Anyway, please wish me luck! I could use some moral support, especially from others who have done this. Thanks!

where did you order from? cost, color and pictures to share?

Oh, Jen! How exciting! How long before you expect delivery? And you ended up with painted white, right? Or am I way off?

Thanks everyone. And yes Susan, they are off-white painted doors. I ordered from Advantage. The price was a little more than what I had calculated myself but it was less than Scherrs by a lot AND less than Tidaholm doors (which I had priced out as a comparison in case I wanted to have them painted). My total order for 53 pieces was $2300, which includes factory painting in my color of choice and shipping. Scherrs would only paint in one shade of white. The Tidaholm doors/drawer fronts alone (not even including the end panels/cover panels) came out to $2700 - and then they would've needed to be painted (I don't paint) and some size modifications to match the mods we did on the cabs.

They gave me a delivery date of ~20-25 working days (that's about how long it took me to get my sample door also).

I did have to pay everything up front, which makes me nervous too. I actually had a nightmare the night I ordered that they ripped me off, took my money and vanished. But I know at least one person here who ordered from them so hopefully that won't happen!

Keeping my fingers crossed.

And, yes, we decided to do the custom doors because we felt that the Stat white doors just really didn't work for us with the wood hood, after all.

Sounds like what I want to do - use just the frames and then do custom face (I want bamboo). Did you use existing fronts for a template or just measure?

jenswrens, were you able to order trim and molding, cover panels painted through them the same way or are you doing that yourself! Can't wait to see your kitchen!
